3D department 3D product rendering · product images

3D product rendering: every variant in your catalogue, without a photo shoot.

We start from your CAD files or technical drawings and build a 3D model of the product with its materials. From that model we render every variant with the same lighting and the same camera angles, ready for your online shop, your catalogue and your technical sheets. When a new finish comes out, we update the model instead of booking another shoot.

  • Every combination rendered in batch, with file names matching your SKUs
  • Consistent lighting and angles across the whole catalogue
  • The same model later powers a 3D configurator and AR views

When photography stops scaling

Companies with large, configurable ranges tend to describe the same four problems.

  1. There are too many combinations. Ten colours in three sizes with four finishes make 120 products. Nobody photographs all of them, so the shop shows one picture and a list of options.

  2. The product does not exist yet. The catalogue goes to print, or the shop goes live, before the first unit leaves production.

  3. The product is large or heavy. A machine, a plant or a piece of outdoor furniture does not fit in a studio, and moving it takes days.

  4. The images do not match. Shoots from different years, with different lights and backgrounds, make the range look untidy and variants hard to compare.

What we produce from the 3D model

One model, many outputs, and each of them can be rendered again when the product changes.

E-commerce images

White or neutral background and fixed angles for every variant, in the formats your shop or marketplace asks for.

Lifestyle scenes

The product placed in a setting that matches its use: a garden, a workshop, a kitchen.

Technical and exploded views

The product opened or taken apart to show components and spare parts in catalogues and manuals.

360° spins and short videos

Image sequences that let shoppers turn the product on the page, and clips for social media and presentations.

Batch variants

A script swaps materials and accessories and saves one image per combination, named the way you need.

A model for other tools

After an optimisation pass it becomes a 3D product configurator or an AR product view.

An example: one product, every variant

A seating manufacturer sells one chair with three bases, five upholstery options and optional armrests. We build the model once, from the dimensions in the technical drawings, and match the materials to the fabric samples. A script then renders the thirty combinations from three angles and names every file with its SKU, so the images go into the shop without manual renaming. When a new fabric arrives, it is added to the model and only the images that use it are rendered again.

Where we start

The starting point depends on what your engineering team already has.

CAD files

STEP, IGES, OBJ or FBX from your engineering team. We convert and simplify them for rendering.

Fastest route

Technical drawings only

If all you have are PDF drawings, a 3D artist we work with builds the model to their dimensions.

Modelling

Material samples

Colours, woods, fabrics and metals are matched to physical samples, colour codes or reference photos, and you approve them before the full catalogue is rendered.

Materials

Your shop's rules

You tell us formats, backgrounds and naming rules, and the images arrive ready to import.

Delivery

When rendering pays off, and when it does not

Rendering pays off when there are many variants, when the product is not in production yet, or when it is hard to photograph. If you sell a few items that rarely change, a good photographer costs less, and we will say so in the first call.

Work is billed by the hour, as in all our projects: a first block for the model, materials and test images, then a package of hours to use whenever new finishes, accessories or collections come out. The model and the images are yours. Projects run remotely and in English from Italy (CET).

Billed by the hour, with every hour reported. The 3D model and the images are yours and can be reused in other projects.

Tell us about your catalogue
1

First call

What you sell, how many variants you have, where the images will be used and which files exist.

2

Model and materials

We build the model and materials and send test images to compare with the real product.

3

Batch rendering

Once the style is approved, we render every variant with the agreed file names.

4

Updates

New finishes and products are added to the model when you need them, without starting over.

Questions about 3D product rendering

What is the difference between 3D product rendering and product photography?

A photograph captures a unit that exists. A render is generated from a 3D model, so each variant is obtained by changing a material or an accessory in the model, without manufacturing and shooting it.

Do you need CAD files?

They help but are not required. With technical drawings alone, the model is built to the dimensions shown in the drawings.

Will the images look real?

That depends mostly on materials and lighting. Before rendering the whole catalogue we send test images to compare with the real product and adjust them with you.

How much do 3D product rendering services cost?

It depends on the number of products, the complexity of the model and how many variants you need. In the first call Davide gives you an order of magnitude for time and cost; the detailed quote follows within 5 days.

Can the same model be used for a 3D configurator?

Yes. After an optimisation pass so that it runs in a browser, the same model becomes a 3D configurator on your site and an AR view, so the work done for the images is not repeated.

Do you work with companies outside Italy?

Yes. Projects run remotely and in English. We are based in Italy (CET), so our working day overlaps with UK and European business hours and with US East Coast mornings.

How many variants does your catalogue have?

Tell us what you sell and where the images will be used. We reply within 2 business hours (CET), and in the first call we tell you whether rendering really pays off.
